Skishoes
When you combine the smooth glide of a forest ski with the agility of a snowshoe, you get a skishoe — a tool made for the snowy forest paths and open winter fields of Finland. This ski is shorter but noticeably wider than a traditional forest ski, allowing it to carry your weight steadily even in deep snow. The wide tip rises lightly to the surface, and soft, sinking snow won’t slow your journey.
The base of the ski features a grippy FishSkin traction pattern that gives confidence with every step. The forward glide is smooth and effortless, while backward sliding stops firmly. This makes movement natural and easy, even in varying terrain.
Skishoes are an excellent choice for beginners and experienced hikers alike. Thickets, slopes, lake ice, and forest trails — you can travel comfortably through many types of terrain. The adjustable touring binding fits a wide range of footwear, from rubber boots to hiking shoes (sizes EU 36–45). The weight capacity is up to 110 kg.
To adjust the binding, press together the metal pin on the binding frame to release the lock. Slide the binding into the correct position so that the front stoppers grip the toe of your shoe, then move the back part against your heel. After this, lock the binding in place.
Skishoes open the door to the winter forest — to a place where silence whispers and the snow carries you into adventure.
Equip yourself with sturdy shoes so you can tighten the binding properly. Adjustable poles are included in the rental.
If you plan to go on the ice with skishoes, always wear ice picks around your neck and follow general ice safety guidelines. Ice picks are available for loan from the rental station.

Remember Ice Safety
• Do not go on the ice alone — always tell someone where you are going and when you will return.
• Check the ice thickness — safe travel on foot requires at least 5 cm of solid, clear ice.
• Wear ice picks around your neck and keep them easily accessible. Learn how to self-rescue beforehand. Example video available HERE
• Avoid areas with currents, boat routes, bridges, and shorelines, where ice may be weaker.
• Listen to the ice — cracking or booming sounds may signal a weak spot.
• Keep your phone in a waterproof pouch and readily accessible. A waterproof bag can be borrowed from the rental station. Also download the 112 emergency app.
Dress in layers and choose materials like merino wool and wool. We do not recommend cotton, which gets cold when wet and dries slowly. Protect your eyes from the sun and ensure you have warm gloves.
